Dr Reddy's signs licensing pact to sell Australian Immutep's cancer drug

Indian drugmaker Dr Reddy's signed an exclusive licensing pact with Australia's Immutep to develop and distribute the latter's cancer therapy, the companies said on Monday.
As part of the agreement, Immutep will receive about $20 million upfront from Dr Reddy's as well as potential regulatory development and commercial milestones payments of up to $349.5 million. Immutep will also get double-digit royalties on commercial sales, the companies added.
The deal will allow Dr Reddy's to distribute eftilagimod alfa in all regions barring North America, Europe, Japan and Greater China.
Over the last few years, Dr Reddy's has diversified its portfolio beyond generics to include cancer therapies as it battles pricing pressures in North America, its largest market.
Immutep's eftilagimod is an immunotherapy, or a category of drugs that direct the body's immune cells to attack cancer more precisely while reducing side effects. The Australian drugmaker aims for the drug to fight non-small cell lung cancer.

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has completed the detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor that will connect Gurugram, Faridabad and Noida, Hindustan Times reported. The project is estimated to cost around ₹15,000 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the Constitution was “throttled” and the nation “chained” during the Emergency, a period that coincided with the 100th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram.
The Prime Minister was speaking in the Lok Sabha, where he initiated a day-long discussion on the 150th year of Vande Mataram. He said the song had inspired generations and remained a symbol of unity in the face of British rule.

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu on Monday said the ministry has continuously been working to encourage competition in the sector and encouraged more airlines to come to the industry with the government's help.
Speaking at the Rajya Sabha, Naidu said, "We have envisioned the demand to be growing at such a rate that we want to have more airlines in the picture... The demand that India is creating today, we need to have five big airlines, and that has been the effort from the ministry to encourage more airlines to join the industry."

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has received three bomb threats to flights coming from different cities, including two international, sources said.
The airport received emails on late Sunday night targeting British Airways' (BA 277) from Heathrow, Lufthansa's (LH 752) from Frankfurt and IndiGo's 6E 7178 from Kannur.
