Axis Bank to offer small ticket unsecured loans jointly with Suvidhaa

Axis Bank and payments company Suvidhaa Infoserv, today launched 'Nano Credit' to offer pre-approved, instant and unsecured loans for the urban low income segment. The maximum loan amount is Rs 15,000 and is available to existing customers of Suvidhaa at 22,000 locations across the country.

A customer who utilises Suvidhaa's remittance or bill payment facilities can avail himself of loans up to Rs 15,000 with no paperwork within a few hours.

Bank of Baroda dipped nearly 8% to Rs 148 on the BSE in early morning trade after the bank’s gross net performing assets (NPA) as a percentage of total loans rose to 11.15% at the end of the June 2016 quarter as compared to 9.99% in the March quarter and 4.13% in the June 2015 quarter.

Net NPAs were at 5.73% in the June quarter compared to 5.06% in the previous quarter and 2.07% in the year-ago quarter.

American conglomerate GE today said it has signed a pact with engineering firm Larsen & Toubro to manufacture subsea equipment for future deep water projects in Krishna-Godavari basin on the eastern coast of India.

“Contributing to India’s exploration and production (E&P) activities in the oil and gas sector, GE has signed an exclusive MoU with L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering, a wholly-owned subsidiary of L&T,” the company said in a statement.
