GMR Infra loss widens 72% to Rs 235 cr in Q1

GMR Infrastructure’s net loss on a consolidated basis widened by 72% year-on-year (y-o-y) to Rs 235.14 crore in the quarter ended June 30 on dwindling profits from its airports business and rising losses on the power segment.

Revenue in the quarter fell about 33% to Rs 1,876.2 crore from the same period last year. Profits from the company’s flagship airport segment fell 60% y-o-y to Rs 277 crore, notwithstanding the 14% traffic growth in the same period.

Appirio India, which specialises on cloud computing based services, reported Rs 11.12 crore profit on revenues of Rs 76.17 crore in FY18. Last financial year, Appirio reported Rs 10.78 crore profit on revenues of Rs 69.74 crore.

Securities and Exchange Board of India Chairman Ajay Tyagi has said in an annual report “there are plans to consider more commodity options contracts to be launched, besides working on guidelines for index products”. Sebi will have to first finalise guidelines, which, according to sources, will suggest common standards for preparing commodity indices and later there will be regulations regarding trading.

As many as 1,677 entities, including individuals, failed to pay penalties imposed by Sebi till the end of May, according to the regulator.

The list of defaulters as on May 31, 2018 "for non-payment of penalty imposed by Sebi through orders passed up to December 31, 2017" has been published on the regulator's website on Monday.

New Delhi: Shares of State Bank of India continued to fall for the second straight session on Monday, dropping over 3 per cent after the lender reported a hefty loss of Rs 4,876 crore for the June quarter.

The stock went down 3.17 per cent to end at Rs 294.80 on BSE. Intra-day, it slumped 4.15 per cent to Rs 291.80. At NSE, shares of the company fell 2.54 per cent to close at Rs 296.70.
