The Supreme Court on Friday accepted the bid offered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to cancel the exams for students of Class 10 and 12, in view of the raging coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak. Instead, a new assessment scheme has been proposed where these students will be evaluated on the average of their best performances in papers they have already appeared for earlier.

Petrol prices on Friday crossed the Rs-80 mark in Delhi as fuel compnaies announced the 20th hike in a row. Petrol price was increased by 21 paise to Rs 80.13 per litre in Delhi. Diesel jumped by 17 paise to Rs 80.19 per litre.

In Mumbai, the price of petrol touched Rs 86.91 a litre and diesel went up to Rs 78.51 a litre. In Kolkata, the prices were at Rs 81.82 a litre and Rs 75.34 a litre, respectively.

IndiGo announced a flexible payment option allowing customers to secure booking on a domestic flight by paying 10 per cent of the ticket price upfront or minimum Rs 400 per passenger. Customers will have to pay the balance upto fifteen days from date of booking or fifteen days before departure, the airline announced said.

The move will help customers lock in fares and help IndiGo grow bookings as it expects a shift in demand from other airlines.
