Private sector lender YES Bank’s net profit rose sequentially to Rs 129 crore in the second quarter ended September 30 this year from Rs 45 crore in the first quarter ended June 30. The bank had posted a loss of Rs 600 crore in Q2 of the previous financial year.
Net interest income (NII) rose 3.4 per cent sequentially to Rs 1,973 crore in Q2 from Rs 1,908 crore in the previous quarter. On year-on-year (YoY) basis, NII was down by 9.7 per cent from the base of Rs 2,186 crore in the second quarter of the previous year.

Engineering conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Friday said it would consider a special dividend at its upcoming board meeting. L&T last doled out a special dividend in March 2008.
The company did not disclose further details or the rationale for the move, however, the announcement comes post completion of the sale of its electrical and automation business to Schneider Electric in August.

In a shocking incident, the half-burnt body of a minor girl was found in the house of the accused at Punjab’s Jalalpur village in Tanda in the Hoshiarpur district on Thursday evening, the police said.
The accused allegedly killed the child and then burnt her body after which the half-burnt body was found from their house. The accused and his grandfather were taken into police custody on Thursday. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has taken suo-moto cognizance of the crime and sought a report from the state within three days.

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail on Friday approved to raise Rs 1,500 crore by way of preferential issue to Flipkart Investments Private Limited, a foreign portfolio investor, the company said in an exchange filing. With this infusion, Flipkart Group will own 7.8% equity stake in ABFRL on a fully diluted basis.
According to the deal terms, AB Fashion and Retail will issue 7,31,70,732 fully paid-up equity shares, at a price of Rs 205 per share (face value of Rs 10 each) aggregating to Rs 1,500 crore, ranking pari passu to the existing fully paid-up equity shares.

Shares of Tata Elxsi moved higher to its fresh record high of Rs 1,710, up 6 per cent on the BSE on Friday. Shares of Jet Airways (India) hit a 52-week high of Rs 51.15 after hitting the 5 per cent upper circuit on the BSE on Friday. The stock has gained 27 per cent in one week after the company's committee of creditors (CoC) approved the resolution plan of consortium of Kalrock Capital–Murari Lal Jalan.
The stock has surpassed its previous 52-week high of Rs 50.25, touched on January 15, 2020. It has hit the upper circuit for the 12th straight trading day at the bourses. In the past 20 trading days, the stock has rallied 108 per cent from the level of Rs 24.60, on September 24, 2020. In comparison, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 8 per cent during the same period.
