Tamil Nadu has become the second state in India after Maharashtra to record over 1 lakh coronavirus cases. The south Indian state has crossed this grim number at a time when its capital city Chennai and three adjoining districts with high population density are under an intense lockdown since June 19. The lockdown is in place till July 5, after which partial normalcy would resume with offices and standalone shops allowed to function with limited capacity.

Veteran choreographer Saroj Khan has died at the age of 71. She died due to cardiac arrest at approximately 2.30 am, her nephew Manish Jagwani confirmed to PTI.
