Ohio Valley General Hospital is a full service 120-bed community hospital serving residents of Pennsylvania's Allegheny County and the western suburbs of Pittsburgh. The hospital's staff of about 300 doctors (representing more than 35 medical specialties) provides emergency, acute, diagnostic, and specialty care, and a variety of inpatient and outpatient care services. Ohio Valley General's programs include cardiology, occupational medicine, pain treatment, rehabilitation, sleep disorder diagnosis, ophthalmic surgery, and wound care. The facility, founded in 1901, also operates senior living communities and sponsors a school of nursing and a school of radiography.

Ohio Valley Medical Center is not located in Ohio, but it is in a valley. The Wheeling, West Virginia-based medical provider administers a variety of acute care, primary care, and other health services to patients through a 225-bed hospital. The facility, established in 1890, specializes in intermediate care, physical rehabilitation, and skilled nursing. Other services include cardiology, emergency care, gynecology, neurology, oncology, and psychiatry, as well as home health care. OVMC also operates the Peterson Rehabilitation Center, and it has a partnership with nearby East Ohio Regional Hospital (just across the river in Martins Ferry, Ohio.)

OhioHealth aims to keep Buckeyes healthy. The not-for-profit system runs eight acute care hospitals and is affiliated with another nine community hospitals and area health systems. All told, OhioHealth has about 2,000 staffed beds in and around Columbus. Additional facilities offer urgent care, physical rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging, and sleep diagnostics services. Subsidiary HomeReach provides home health care and hospice care. Its WorkHealth program offers workers' compensation care management and occupational rehabilitation services. OhioHealth Group, OhioHealth's joint venture with The Medical Group of Ohio, operates the HealthReach PPO.

Olmsted Medical Center (OMC) is no slouch in clinical research and provides general medical and surgical care to the Rochester, Minnesota, area. The center also partners with regional schools to provide medical, nursing, and technical training. Specialty services include pediatrics, neurology, occupational medicine, and orthopedics. In addition to its hospital and urgent care center, Olmsted Medical Center also operates a main clinic and several branch clinics in the region. Olmsted Medical Center was formed from the merging of Olmsted Community Hospital and Olmsted Medical Group in 1996.

Shore Memorial Health System is not-for-profit community hospital has some 300 beds. It offers acute care services and more than 35 specialized care programs including cancer, cardiac, obstetric, and orthopedic care. Shore Memorial Hospital is affiliated with The University of Pennsylvania Health System and The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. In addition to the hospital, Shore Memorial operates community-based health and fitness centers.
