Atlantic Tele-Network (ATN) makes connections from the rain forests of Guyana to the maple groves of Vermont. ATN owns 80% of mobile phone carrier Guyana Telephone & Telegraph (GT&T), which has about 150,000 fixed access telephone lines and has about 290,000 cellular subscribers. In the US, ATN provides wholesale wireless voice and data roaming services to local and national communications carriers through subsidiary Commnet. The company provides voice and broadband Internet communcations services in New England, particularly in the state of Vermont, through its SoVerNet subsidiary. SoVerNet subsidiary ION offers fiber optic transport services in New York State on a wholesale basis.
