Stauffer’s roots are still in York, Pennsylvania where the first animal crackers were produced in 1871. Two additional bakeries are located in Cuba, New York and Santa Ana, California. The Dean's story begins in 1975 at the heart of Helen Dean's kitchen, in the small town of Huntly, North East Scotland.It was here that Helen first created her delicious traditional shortbread. Her husband Bill, a Drum Major, thought it was so delicious he decided to use Helen’s baking to help raise funds for the local Huntly pipe band. In 1920 with the help of their eleven children, Tomaso and Addolorata Di Camillo opened their first bakery in Niagara Falls, New York.
