Axis Bank launches self-service terminal for cash deposit & withdrawal

Axis Bank-country’s third largest private sector bank-has launched a self-service terminal that enables customers to deposit as well as withdraw cash from the same machine.
Customers can initiate a deposit transaction through these terminals even without using a debit card. If the customers PAN details are available with the bank then there is no restriction on the amount of cash being deposited, the bank said.
Apart from providing convenience to the customer, this will also help the bank in reducing operational cost. This is because the terminal will reduce the frequency of loading cash in the machine as well as the cost of idle cash as it will allow cash recycling operations. This in turn will improve efficiency of the bank's cash operations, it added.

Vodafone Idea (Vi) on Thursday reported a net loss of Rs 7,674.6 crore, widening by 19.5 per cent in the fourth quarter (January-March) of FY24 from Rs 6,418.9 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY23 due to higher expenses and stalling revenues.
On a sequential basis, the firm's net loss expanded 9.85 per cent, up from Rs 6,986 crore in the preceding quarter.

AstraZeneca's Covid-19 prevention therapy reduced the risk of infection in patients with weaker immunity in a late-stage trial, meeting its primary goal, the drugmaker said on Thursday.
The long-acting antibody therapy called sipavibart showed a "statistically significant reduction" in symptomatic Covid-19 cases among immunocompromised patients, the company said.
