Nasscom, TalentSprint launch Talent Acquisition Professionals Forum

The IT-ITeS sector skills council (SSC Nasscom), in association with Hyderabad-based career accelerator TalentSprint, on Thursday launched a nationwide programme for Talent Acquisition Professionals in the IT and business process management (BPM) industry called the Talent Acquisition Professionals Forum (or TAP Forum).

There are over 30,000 talent acquisition professionals in the Indian IT-BPM industry. A recent study revealed that recruiting is the most important human resources function when it comes to RoI (return on investment) and companies that excel in recruiting experience have 3.5 times more revenue growth than their less-capable peers.

Sebi to push corporate bond sales online in market overhaul

In a bid to boost market activity, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) plans to overhaul the corporate debt market by pushing all issuance onto an electronic platform as early as November, sources with direct knowledge of the plan said.

The markets regulator will announce the proposal drafted by an internal regulatory panel within a few weeks, and seek market feedback, said the sources, who declined to be named as the plan is not yet public.

Larsen & Toubro today said power transmission and distribution business of L&T Construction has bagged orders worth Rs 864 crore from Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation ‘KAHRAMAA’.

“The power transmission and distribution business of L&T Construction has won a prestigious order in the Middle East from Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation ‘KAHRAMAA’ worth QAR (Qatari Riyal) 491.45 million (Rs 864 crore),” Larsen & Toubro said in a BSE filing.

Largest private lender ICICI Bank today launched the country's first mortgage guarantee-backed home loan product that will expand the credit amount and increase the tenure for an additional fee as well.

It will help customers raise the eligible amount by up to 20 per cent and increase the tenure by up to seven years, MD and CEO Chanda Kochhar told reporters here.

Calcutta, Aug. 25: SBI General Insurance, which had suffered a loss of Rs 105 crore in 2014-15, expects to break even this financial year.

Bhaskar J. Sarma, managing director and chief executive officer of SBI General Insurance, today said the company was targeting a premium collection of Rs 2,400 crore against Rs 1,600 crore last year with an increased focus on health insurance. "We are also expecting to break even this year," he added.
