Infosys Senior Vice-President Sanjay Rajagopalan has resigned from his post, a month after Vishal Sikka stepped down as the company's managing director and CEO.

In his LinkedIn profile, Rajagopalan described himself as a "free man".

The government has formed an advisory panel that would decide the valuation for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) buying the 51 per cent stake in Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL), said its Chairman and Managing Director M K Surana.

The government will soon start linking driving licences with Aadhaar cards, Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Friday. "It would be done soon to check the menace of multiple licensing," he said while inaugurating the Haryana Digital Summit-2017.

New Delhi: NTPC Ltd., India’s biggest electricity producer, has boosted natural gas-fired generation as a drop in hydropower, nuclear and wind energy increases demand for thermal power, according to company officials with knowledge of the situation.

Plant utilization at NTPC’s gas-fired stations has almost tripled to 60% in the past three to four days, said the officials, who asked not to be identified, citing company policy. That compares with an average plant utilization of about 24% for NTPC’s gas-fired stations in the three months ended June, when summer demand peaks.

The number of private sector projects to which banks and financial institutions (FIs) sanctioned loans rose 58% year-on-year (y-o-y) in FY17, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). In a report released as part of its monthly bulletin for September 2017, the central bank said 547 projects with a total cost of Rs 1.83 lakh crore were sanctioned financial assistance by banks and FIs in FY17, as against 346 projects worth Rs 91,800 crore in FY16.
