Aligarh Muslim University

Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL)
CIEFL is an autonomous Institution, registered as a society. CIEFL provides for the study of English and Foreign Languages and their literatures, organisation of research, training of teachers, production of teaching materials, and extension services, to help improve the standards of the teaching of English and Foreign Languages in India. Over the years, CIEFL has been introducing various Foreign Languages that are in demand. It is the only University in India catering exclusively to the teaching/learning Foreign Languages. Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE)
CIFE was established on 06 June 1961. The main purpose of its establishment was to impart post-graduate education and training, mainly to the in-service fisheries personnel of the country to provide trained manpower for the fisheries developmental activities. The CIFE, initially, started with three Academic Divisions viz., Fishery Biology, Fishery Technology and Fishery Economics for conducting a two-year post-graduate course of Diploma in Fisheries Science (D.F.Sc.). The Institute came under the Administrative Control of Indian Council of Agricultural Reserach with effect from 1 April, 1979. CIFE has been providing leadership in Fisheries Education and Training in India as also in neighbouring Afro-Asian Countries for nearly four decades. It was in recognition of the pivotal role played by the Institute in Fisheries Education that the Ministry of Human Resources Development and the University Grants Commission accorded the Deemed -to-be University status to CIFE on 29 March, 1989. CIFE , thus has the distinction of becoming the first fisheries university in India.

Rabindra Bharati University.
It was founded on May 8, 1962, under the Rabindra Bharati Act of the Government of West Bengal, 1961, to mark the birth centenary of the poet Rabindranath Tagore, in whose ancestral residence it found its first seat and where two of the three faculties of the University, those of Fine Arts and Visual Arts, are still located. With the eventual expansion of the University, the Faculty of Arts was added to its academic base in 1976 and a new campus on 56A, B. T. Road, Kolkata-50 was requisitioned to house it.

University Grants Commission(UGC)
The UGC, however, was established in November 1956 as a statutory body of the Government of India through an Act of Parliament for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India. In order to ensure effective region-wise coverage throughout the country, the UGC has decentralised its operations by setting up six regional centers at Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bhopal, Guwahati and Bangalore. The head office of the UGC is located at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg in New Delhi, with two additional bureaus operating from 35, Feroze Shah Road and the South Campus of University of Delhi as well.
