NEW DELHI: Reliance Industries has identified last-mile delivery as the biggest challenge for its planned online marketplace venture and will focus on nurturing this aspect of the business, where rivals Flipkart and Amazon have asignificant head-start, sources said.

Tata Motors will invest $1 bln -- its biggest ever investment in the passenger vehicle business --- in the next three years as above average growth spurs demand for newer cars. Microsoft Corp. is going for the low-end of the personal computing market with a smaller, cheaper Surface Go tablet that takes on Apple Inc.’s cheapest iPads.

The Surface Go has a 10-inch screen, about the same size as the entry-level iPad. At $399, the device is $400 cheaper than the current Surface Pro tablet, but has slower Intel Corp. processors and about four hours less battery time, Microsoft said.

The decline in coal imports by India’s power plants points to distress in an increasing number of generators and a domestic supply shortfall.

Imports by power stations fell about 15 percent from a year ago in the first two months of the fiscal year to March caused mainly by a 32 percent drop in overseas purchases by plants designed to use imported coal, according to calculations based on data from Central Electricity Authority, a unit of the power ministry.
