Nachmo Knitex Ltd (NKL) was incorporated by Mr Chintan N Parikh in 1981. NKL has 47.3% foreign holdings and 37.27% in the hands of corporate bodies. The company is into trading and manufacturing of diversified products like cotton knitted fabrics, humidification and air washer plants, and melamine crockery. In FY98, around 78% of the income came from cotton knitted fabrics, 15% from air washer plants and components, and 7% from the crockery and other businesses. The company's yarn sizing division stopped operations from FY95. More than 99% of the raw materials is indigenously procured.
Future Plans: NKL is presently focusing on the knitting division. Knitted fabric enjoys a good potential for manufacturing garments in the domestic as well as international markets. The company has reduced business volumes in the melamine and humidification divisions. A greater emphasis on value-added products is likely to improve the margins of the company. |
