School of Management Sciences, Varanasi is uniquely positioned as a management institute of repute located in a remote corner of the country, which otherwise is known for its cultural heritage and also regarded as an ancient seat of learning. SMS has been able to leverage the regions legacy and build upon it by offering a management degree anchored in the cultural and traditional root of Indian people. There are six professional programmes on offer including a two year PGDBM. The other and a three-year BBA, Certificate programme in Japanese Management and the Insurance Agents Training programme(of Insurance Regulatory Development Authority) besides the PhD. programme in Management. The Institute has a well developed campus with Wi Fi connectivity and large number of multimedia classrooms besides a large computer centre meeting the entire capacity needs of the diverse range of students. SMS also makes efforts to use its technological edge fully and developed a curriculum that dovetails with the available facilities. The library is well equipped and also e-enabled and in fact, in many of these aspects the institute has been far ahead of even some of the better known institutes of northern India thanks to the vision and commitment of its founders. The Institute started in 1995 in a small three room business premises in the heart of the city of Varanasi moved to the current spacious campus five years later and since then built upon its strength from year on year. The Institute is highly networked with the industry who have been supporting the institute through periodic campus contact programmes, guest lectures, curriculum support and of course placement assistance. The Institute has enjoyed good placements over the years and its value of placements is also going up by the year. The Institute also runs a Centre for Spiritual and Human Enrichment and also a Behavioural Dynamics Lab to help the students in developing a holistic personality. |
