Chennai is known historically as the centre for learning in the south and, as such,competition is high and the quality consciousness equally prime. These were the twin challenges ITM, Chennai, faced when it was founded in 1993. However, with the typical ITM ethos and continuous learning, the group and its college in Chennai converted the hurdles to an advantage and have since grown to be a formidable B-school to reckon with in this region. The spacious, well-laid-out campus is close to the IT park on the Mahabalipuram Road, which is fast becoming the IT industry hub of the region - an advantage which, in no small measure, is already helping the school to grow. The future looks even better, since the entire IT corridor is moving here and, as one of the pioneering educational institutions offering a domain expertise, combining it with management education, ITM has every chance of becoming one of the biggest educational enterprises in this region. A well-stocked library, with a collection of over 5,000 books, journals, periodicals, case studies, publications, CD ROMs, etc, on various topics and a variety of online research archives, is part of the high-tech environments created for the school. There are separate multimedia seminar and lecture halls within the sprawling campus.
