IIMB is a public institution of national importance that is autonomous, standalone management school and not part of any university. It was established in 1973 by the Government of India through the creation of an IIMB Society which is the legal entity behind the institution. The school works within the national policy guidelines established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. A Board of Governors oversees the management of the school and provides strategic directions. The school is led by a Director, who is the head of the institution, and two Deans. The school excels in teaching and research. It is amongst the top management schools in India and Asia according to several rankings. For the sixth consecutive year IIMB has been nominated the Best School in Central Asia region by Eduniversal, and retained its 'Five Palmes' status as a 'Universal Business School with Major Influence' in 2013. |
