coronavirus pandemic, many are taking the opportunity to spread rumours among the people and create confusions. The Maharashtra government has warned such people of legal action if they spread misinformation regarding non-vegetarian food including chicken, mutton, and eggs.
The government has made it clear the administration is working on identification of such miscreants who are propagating fake information about the consumption of non-vegetarian food and strict action will be taken against them.
The poultry industry has been badly affected amid rumours that the coronavirus infection spreads through consumption of chicken. As a result, prices have fallen significantly.
Reports suggest that the jobs of about two crore people employed in the poultry industry have been impacted.
Maharashtra has the highest number of confirmed cases of the COVID-19 followed by Kerala. A total of 147 Indians have been tested positive for the virus out of which three have died and 14 have been cured and discharged.
