Wangchuk ends fast after Centre's assurances; Modi promises tougher action

Activist and educator Sonam Wangchuk ended his hunger strike late Thursday night at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram in the presence of Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh.

Wangchuk was protesting alongside students and members of Cockroach Janta Party, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged Neet paper leak.

In a post on X, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke thanked Wangchuk for his "extraordinary courage and sacrifice".
