Skil put some thought into this new line of drills, and there's a lot to like. A high-performance motor produces 250 inch/pounds of torque and 0 to 400 and 1,250 rpm. Unlike other cordless drills with batteries that won't budge, this one slides on and off easily with a neat fuel gauge indicator tells you how much juice is left. The keyless chuck makes for quick and easy bit changes, and the longer, two-fingered trigger is the kind we prefer. The grip's nice and soft, and the tool's not terribly heavy, so user comfort is good. We like that there are two batteries, so you'll never be out of power. A neat bonus: a bit index stores right on the drill body. Great for homeowners and do-it-yourselfers.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste
