One of Hitachi’s most popular nailers, and for good reason. It’s practically impossible to jam and fires a rapid three nails per second. At first gander, it appears heavy and unwieldy, but in hand, it’s amazingly well-balanced and comfortable, and Hitachi’s nailers are among the most reliable we’ve seen. It runs off air pressure of 70 to 120 psi, delivering plenty of "pow" even at the lower end. Hitachi recommends this model for floor and wall framing, truss build-up, window build-up, construction of subflooring and roof decking, wall sheathing, and mobile home and modular house construction. The accompanying EC12 compressor provides plenty of air pressure for any pneumatic nailer at 4 cubic feet per minute at 90 psi and a 14-second recovery time. The twin tanks are stacked, so it’s compact and portable, perfect for the job site at 60 pounds.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste
