The portability of gas power without the mixing and pull-cord, the ease and reliability of AC power without being tethered by an extension cord, Toro's 12-volt trimmer is a first-rate unit for homeowners. A 12-volt battery offers a run time of at least 45 minutes, more than enough for the average yard. The D-shaped handle’s curve balances the trimmer’s 10 pounds nicely in hand, and we especially like the wide-grip trigger. It comes out of the box fully assembled, needing only a 12-hour charge to be ready to run. The spool holds 10 feet of .065 line, and spool replacement is a snap--literally—-because no tools are needed. Just bump the head to advance more line.
