Each bit is annealed and heat treated to Rockwell hardness of 40-45-harder than is possible with cast steel bodies. The bits are precisly ground using computer controlled machining for precision tolerances and perfectly concentric shafts. The carbide tips are made from a specially blended micrograin carbide for superior results and longer lasting sharpness. This bit is designed to cut a profile on a raised panel door without using a standard, large diameter panel raising bit. Because the bit diameter is smaller, the knife speed is slower at the tip, increasing safety.
