Porter-Cable Professional Edge router bits are constructed of 4140 Alloy Steel, a harder grade of steel than standard cast steel bit bodies. Each bit is annealed and heat treated to Rockwell hardness of 40-45-harder than is possible with cast steel bodies. The bits are precisly ground using computer controlled machining for precision tolerances and perfectly concentric shafts. The carbide tips are made from a specially blended micrograin carbide for superior results and longer lasting sharpness. This bit is designed with installers in mind. It willl not only flush trim laminates, but can also perform bevel trimming operations when set at a lower depth. One flute is straight and the other is beveled at 22 degrees. By varying the depth of the bit, flush trimming or finish beveling can be performed. The ball-bearing pilot on this bit guides the cutter for flush trimming laminates and veneers. Includes one carbide-tipped bit.
