The SS350 is the finest 16-inch scroll saw Delta makes and is an excellent choice for hobbyists and woodworkers who expect the most from their tools. It has a heavy-duty, 2 amp induction motor with variable speed from 600 to 1,650 spm for working with a variety of materials, from metals and hardwoods to soft woods and plastics. We like the really solid construction of the arm, which reduces vibration and helps keep cuts clean and accurate. The 11-3/4-inch-diameter, teardrop-shaped table tilts from 0 to 45 degrees for bevel cutting, and extends the full length of the throat to provide support for big work pieces. This saw has a 2-inch depth capacity with the table set at 90 degrees and a 1-1/2-inch capacity at 45 degrees. Blade changes are quick, easy, and tool free with the upper and lower Quickset II blade chucks that Delta includes. There's also a fingertip blade-tensioning control for maximizing blade life. To complete the package, this saw has a built-in blower to keep the cut line clear of dust and a removable dust collection box with a 1-1/2-inch dust port.
