Sure, you could spend a day in your shop building your own tenoning jig. Or you could spend the day making furniture with this one. Your choice. We know what we'd choose, that's for sure. Delta's universal jig fits any table saw that has a 3/8-by-3/4-inch miter slot and adapts to right- or left-tilting arbors. You'll get top-quality craftsmanship with the microfine-thread adjustment knob, allowing you to adjust width-of-cut settings to a hair for the snuggest possible tenon fit. We particularly like Delta's redesign of the handle. Most tenoning jigs we've used have one handle, sometimes up too high to offer good control. But Delta's replaced that with two, positioned at the jig's base, just where we always thought they ought to be. Another good innovation is the thumbscrew that lets you quick-release the hold-down clamp support. As for accuracy, it's hard to do better than this. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste

For woodworking projects to be considered truly professional, tight joints are a must. Especially when it comes to mortise-and-tenon joints. Delta's new, feature rich tenoning jig makes this difficult joint that much easier. Easy to operate ergonomic handles. quick release coarse adjustment feature. This universal jig is CNC precision milled cast-iron designed to accurately and safely cut Tenons on any table saw with a 3/8-inch by 3/4-inch miter-slot, which is standard on almost all table saws but the Rigid brand. It can be used with both right and left tilt saws and can be adjusted from 90 to 45 degrees with adjustable positive stops. Features you will only find on this model include a micro-fine adjustment knob for precise width-of-cut setting capable of 4/1000-inch. A macro adjustment engineered into the casting allows coarse adjustments with a push of a button, when the button is released it automatically defaults to the micro-fine adjustment for quick accurate setup. The handle has been redesigned as well, two ergonomically designed handles replace the one handle style all other jigs have and they are positioned on the base of the jig where they need to be to ensure smooth jerk-free cuts every time. No longer are you pushing your tenon through from the back of the jig with one hand hoping you can keep from pushing too hard causing the jig to raise up. The adjustable 0-45 degree work piece support accommodates thicker, wider stock and allows the proper angle to be found for whatever the application may be. The best feature has to be the quick-release hold down clamp support. Unlike almost all the other competitive models that require an Allen screw to adjust this Delta model has a large thumbscrew that allows adjustments without the need for tools. Every thing necessary for use is included right out of the box (less wood).
