It is a Non-Government organization (NGO), devoting itself for the promotion of AQUACULTURE all over India. AFI continues with the Founder, President Dr. M. Sakthivel (Former Chairman & Director of MPEDA, Govt of India). He is devoting himself for all the activities of AFI. He is delivering lectures in various forums. He is involved in several advisory committees. The Planning Commission of the Govt. of Tamilnadu has entrusted the job of preparing Aquarian Policy. He is deeply involved in Tsunami relief programmes of Tamilnadu.
