This heavy-duty, high-velocity floor fan from Patton is built to cool efficiently and withstand rugged conditions. The fan has a steel rear structure with a high-impact polymer front grille for durability and an airfoil-design blade for maximum surface efficiency. The resulting draft is both powerful and focused, even on the lowest of the three speed settings. Built to swivel from fully upright to fully horizontal, the fan’s sizeable head can be secured in place with side fasteners. The oversized tubular base maintains stability whatever the head angle, and the rubber and polymer feet protect the floor from scratches. A bit of a noisemaker, the fan is not suitable for living room or nursery use, but is great in hot kitchens or around the job site. Wall-mounting is also an option, though hardware must be purchased separately. Patton includes a 10-year warranty. --Emily Bedard
