This German company has been making scales since 1868 and has a great deal of expertise behind the production of each one. The Hippo model is durably made with a reliable weighing mechanism and is easy to use. This digital scale has a switch that sets measurements to either the imperial (pounds/ounces) or metric (grams/kilograms) systems, making it easier to follow recipes from either American or European cookbooks without having to figure out weight conversions. An additive weighing function reports changes in weight as you continue to add ingredients to the scale. The Hippo measures up to 11 pounds or 5 kilograms on its plastic platform.
