The knives have wide bolsters for control and balance and finely ground edges. The five kitchen knives include an 8-inch chef's knife for rocking through chopping tasks, an 8-inch slicer for carving roasts and poultry, a 5-inch utility knife with serrated blade for tomatoes and other soft vegetables and fruits, a 4-inch straight-edge utility knife, and 3-1/4-inch paring knife. Poly handles are attached to full tangs with three rivets for traditional style. Accompanying the knives are an 8-inch sharpening steel to keep edges aligned and 8-inch kitchen shears with a bottle opener between the handles. All pieces fit in a slanted pinewood storage block.
