From whole-wheat waffles with fresh fruit to buttermilk waffles with syrup to chocolate waffles with whipped cream, waffles are as healthy or as decadent as you choose to make them. But one thing is constant: the difference between homemade and frozen waffles is like that between sirloin and shoe leather. There's no longer any need to be afraid of making waffles, because Villaware's heart waffler practically makes them for you: an auto-light tells you when to pour the batter and when to remove the waffles, and an auto-thermostat controls the temperature so you don't risk wasting first attempts. The nonstick coating reduces every recipe's fat content, justifying more butter, syrup, and whipped cream later, and a spill trough helps keep mess at bay. The darker-colored nonstick surface also enables better waffle browning. The nonstick surface will not easily scratch, but should be cleaned with a soft cloth or waffle brush with plastic bristles.
