In part, this is due to the self-centering 5-1/8-by-1-1/8-inch slots that are wide enough for hand-cut breads and deli bagels. It is also due to the toaster’s versatile controls, which include a defrost function, a bagel option, and seven browning settings. A pop-up rack even lets you gently warm Danishes and muffins. Other structural pluses include the cool-touch housing, the Hi-Lift raising lever, the anti-jam feature, and the cancel/eject button that arrests any setting immediately.
