Easily one of the most affordable 27-inch TVs around, the Apex AT2702 offers basic and convenient features for home theaters on a budget. Its stylish silver exterior complements many other audio/video components, and its user-friendly front-panel AV inputs let you plug in a camcorder, VCR, or gaming console quickly and easily. The set is monaural, but if you're interested in stereo sound you can still route a DVD player, VCR, or analog RCA cable-box outputs through a hi-fi integrated receiver or home-theater surround processor while using the AT2702 as a video monitor. Cable or satellite television is not required, however: the set includes a 181-channel NTSC broadcast tuner. Standard RF, composite-, and S-video inputs accommodate DVD players, cable boxes, VCRs, and other AV equipment (up to four devices total, including the front-panel inputs), and a set of rear-panel AV outputs lets you route the TV's audio and video to a VCR for off-air recording. The set also features a trilingual onscreen display (English, Spanish, French), closed-caption display, V-Chip parental control, a sleep timer, auto-off, and a full-function remote control.
