The kids and their pet monsters have forsaken the city for the countryside in this trio of episodes from the animated TV series. First they stumble into a booby-trapped Ninja mansion in "The Ninja Poké-Showdown." The head Ninja challenges Ash to a "two-on-two" Pokémon battle, which introduces two forms of the insect monster Veronat. For a little dash of culture, evildoers Team Rocket appear in kabuki garb. Then it's on to the Pokémon preserve in "The Flame Pokémon-Athon!" in which cowgirl Lara (complete with Southernish accent) trains her protected Pokémon for the big annual race. Finally, in "The Kangaskhan Kid," Ash, Misty, and Brock help reunite a little Tarzan twin who lives in the wild with a pack of kangaroo-like Pokémon with his father, who accidentally dropped him from an airplane when he was three, and his mother, who, curiously, appears not to resent her husband's carelessness. This 75-minute tape will appeal to Pokémon fans of all ages; however, parents concerned about the fighting may want to wait until their tots are preschool-age to introduce them to the phenom that is Pokémon. --Kimberly Heinrichs --This text refers to the VHS Tape edition.
Description
Ash tries to get the soul badge at Fuchsia Gym, but the gym is a ninja mansion full of treacherous traps! Then, devious racer Dario has rigged the Pokemon race with his sabotage, wounding the front-runner, Lara! Can Ash ride Lara's Ponyta and win the race? A lost boy, Tommy, has been raised by the Kangaskhan to speak Pokemon language! Now Team Rocket is trying to trap the Kangaskhan, and only Ash, Pikachu and their friends can stop them, save the Kangaskhan, and reunite Tommy with his family!
